Give Yourself Grace: Navigating Cancer Without Self-Blame
“Self-Compassion Through Cancer: You’re Doing Better Than You Think”
Cancer is hard enough without the added weight of self-judgment. It’s easy to feel like you should be handling things “better” — staying positive, keeping up with work, being strong for your family. But the truth is, cancer doesn’t come with a rulebook, and there’s no “right” way to go through it.
There will be days when you feel like a warrior, and days when getting out of bed feels impossible. Both are okay. The emotional toll of cancer is just as real as the physical one, and it’s normal to grieve, to be angry, to feel lost.
Give yourself grace. You are doing the best you can in an impossible situation. Rest when you need to. Ask for help. Let yourself feel whatever comes without guilt. Cancer is not a test of strength or character—it’s a battle you didn’t sign up for, and surviving it in any way you can is enough.
Be kind to yourself. You deserve it.

In Whom Do We Trust?
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
