Cancer doesn't just happen to one person-it happens to everyone who loves them. My diagnosis didn't just change my life; it reshaped the lives of my family, upended our plans, and forced us to navigate a system that often feels impossible to trust.
For me, it wasn't just the treatments or the physical toll that hit the hardest—it was the constant battle outside of the disease itself. The endless red tape, the waiting, the unanswered calls when time felt like my most precious resource. And along the way, I realized that the traditional paths to treatment often leave so much out of the conversation.
From the very beginning I began exploring alternative treatments, looking for options that could support my body and spirit in ways mainstream medicine didn't address. These paths weren't always easy to access or understand, but they opened doors I hadn't even known existed.
They became a crucial part of my journey, giving me a sense of control in a situation that often felt hopelessly out of my hands.
That's why I’m sharing my story here. Because cancer may have taken a lot, but it hasn't taken my voice. And if sharing my experiences can help someone else feel less alone-or shine a light on the changes we so desperately need in this system— then it's worth every word.
This is a journey I never wanted to take, but it's one I hope will make a difference.
